It’s only been a few weeks into this house hunting fiasco, and I am well and truly.. over it. It’s so time-consuming, emotionally draining and I’m sick of being rejected!
So far we have…
- been rejected by every Real Estate agency, every application
- encountered 40 + others during open for inspections. The competition has been fierce
- only dealt with idiot real estate agents who are unprofessional and do not know what they are doing
- had to broaden our search a lot further, and have had to increase our budgets considerably
To further expand on point 3…
Is it me or are the vast majority of Real Estate agents incompetent? When faced with any question about the house they frankly redirect you to the relevant website. This is clearly easier for them, and well, the advertisements have all the information you possibly need. They can’t seem to open the doors. In fact one open for inspection was cancelled because the agent could not open the door! Another open for inspection involved me waiting for 15 minutes to then find out that the agent had stuffed up, that the house was OFI yesterday and was now in fact gone. They didn’t know what happened.
My sister went to another open for inspection last Wednesday night, waited, no agent arrived, when she called they had no idea why she was there (maybe because it was advertised?) and that it had as well been leased out.
Do the agents not view the houses themselves before they try to lease it out? Because they all seem a bit surprised when they eventually manage to open the doors?
We have noticed that the competition is slowly dying down, so hopefully this enhances our chances of getting a place.
My mate and I had a brain storming session the other day and we decided that we’re going to keep on trying, however I’m not sure for how much longer…
